Description
Pre-conception, pregnancy, and nursing are critical times to optimize a mother's health and nutrition – for both mom and baby. At a time when overall nutritional and caloric needs greatly increase, it is often difficult for a woman to fulfill her daily nutrient needs through diet alone, particularly during the first trimester when morning sickness can prevail. Because better absorption means less stomach upset and constipation, Basic Prenatal is formulated with the most bioavailable nutrients that are gentle on the stomach. In addition, Basic Prenatal contains none of the additives and coatings found in other prenatal supplements.
Benefits of Thorne’s Basic Prenatal at each stage

Iodine may occasionally cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.
PREGNANCY
If pregnant, consult your health professional before using this product.
INTERACTIONS
Because vitamin K interferes with the effects of anticoagulant drugs (like Coumadin), avoid using these agents concurrently.
5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) supplementation is not recommended with methotrexate cancer therapy, as it can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, this folate source has not been shown to interfere with methotrexate's anti-inflammatory activity. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.
ADDITIONAL WARNINGS
Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under six. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
Vitamin C can cause diarrhea in some individuals at high doses; symptoms vary from person to person and resolve when the dose is reduced.
